Re: SRGC and Coronavirus (COVID-19)
Firstly I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your families’ good health through the coming weeks and months which are sure to provide many challenges.
We would like to provide you with our current position regarding operations and measures that have been put in place to minimise the risk and spread of infection.
All golf fixtures remain unchanged. All members’ competitions, open competition days, corporate golf days and social play are business as usual until further notice. Members booking in on Thursday nights will now take place in the sports bar and function rooms to disperse the number of members congregating. Names will be called as usual but members will have to option to sit and book in at terminals located in the function rooms or sports bar. This process will be monitored for the coming weeks.
Club House Operations
Measures have been introduced within the club house to firstly reduce social interaction and ensure hygiene standards are maintained. Our contract cleaners have increased the concentration of chemicals used to clean all surfaces and our staff will be spot cleaning again throughout the day. Our service staff have been educated on the importance of personal hygiene using information provide by NSW Health.
Glassware and cutlery has been removed from public access, these will now be issued by staff upon request and where possible individually wrapped.
The overall table numbers in the brasserie and sports bar will be reduced to allow a larger spread of the remaining tables and chairs. Fewer chairs will be placed at tables to further increase the spread.
Functions, events and club house promotions of less than 500 people will at this stage still go ahead, subject to further advice from the Government and NSW Health. Where possible, numbers will be limited and guidelines on social distancing will be applied.
Advice to Members
We would ask that members refrain from person to person contact at all times while at the club, including shaking hands as per the advice from Health NSW. We ask that you consider the health of your fellow members and club staff by washing your hands regularly, hand sanitiser will be provided where possible but we recommend you bring your own to ensure supply. The well-being of our service staff is directly affected by your actions,self-isolation is essential if you have any flu like symptoms. We would also ask that you confidentially report if you test positive and have recently attend the club so that we can assess the risk to others.
There is no doubt that we will see a decrease in trade over the coming months and may even need to consider shutting down clubhouse operations, but for now we encourage you to support the club whenever and however you can.
Any changes to the above will be communicated via direct email and the Club website.
