NOTICE FROM THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

As you have been advised this week there have been significant and immediate changes to the operation of our club due to the COVID-19 crisis. These have been imposed on us, by both state and federal governments, to ensure that people are given the best protection to limit the spread of this virus.
Craig Scott, our CEO, has implemented the essential changes required which include closing clubhouse operations. This has dramatically affected all our clubhouse staff and most dramatically our casual staff, who have been stood down while the clubhouse is closed. We are extremely upset that this has had to happen, especially as many of the casual staff have been with us for a considerable period and are well known to the majority of our members, both social and golfing alike. The club is doing all we can to support these staff through what is a very difficult personal time for them, until we are in a position to reopen.
Craig has been in close contact with Golf NSW and NSW Health to guide our decisions in relation to the Golf Course. You should have received notice of these decisions during the past few days in regards to the use of the golf course. If you have not seen these guidelines then they are available on the website. It is imperative that should you choose to come and play golf that you observe the social distance rules and other guidelines that have been detailed in this notice. The response by government this week to the scenes at Bondi last weekend are foremost in our minds and we request that all members adhere strictly to the published guidelines.
We also ask all members, should you be feeling unwell or are concerned that you may have CoVID-19, that you follow the current medical advice and self isolate at home until you get a proper diagnosis.
An emergency board meeting was held last night to discuss Club operation and the Club’s plans for the clubhouse shutdown. The Board is confident that the strategies that have been implemented are appropriate and correct for the current circumstances. The plans include some maintenance and cleaning operations that are easier to perform with no clubhouse patrons. We are confident that the preparations will ensure that, when we resume operations, the club will reopen quickly and be ready for us to enjoy again.
As you are probably aware, it has been a terrible time for all golf clubs around the country. Fires, floods and now C0VID-19 threatening financial viability and operations. We are fortunate, at Stonecutters, that we have enough resources to weather the current storm and ensure that our staff’s entitlements are protected.
Our current financial position is strong and together with the strategies that have been implemented you can be reassured that we will weather the current conditions.
Should you attend the club, during this time, we ask that you give special consideration to the staff still working at the club. They have seen many of their workmates stood down and their feelings are most likely very raw. Please respect all our staff and the social distancing guidelines that are there to protect you and the staff. These are difficult times for everyone and our staff are providing you a service and also risking their health to enable us to play golf.
Finally, the board wishes all our members and their families the best of health during this difficult time. We look forward to the time when we can gather again at our great facility without the restrictions this pandemic has imposed.
