Mixed Foursomes, Round 1 Report

The Mixed Foursomes Championship commenced on Sunday the 19th of June. The Championship is decided over 36 holes with the title going to the best 36 hole scratch total. Prizes are also awarded for nett in each grade. Prizes for the 2 Foursomes events of the day are determined as normal with the major prize being the nett. Grade separations are determined at the completion of round 1 to ensure an equality of competitors in each grade. With 25 pairings entering round 1, A Grade comprises of 13 pairings, whilst B Grade comprises of 12 pairings. In order to ensure equivalence of numbers it was necessary to use each golfer’s actual GA as opposed to their daily handicap. As a result, some pairings with a handicap of 23.5 have been placed in A Grade and some in B Grade based on their GA. Members are advised that the leader boards showing on the leader board section of the members portal do not include correct grade separations. Please refer to PDFs below for grade standings.

In A Grade, the Championship is led by Susan and Martin Morrissey (94), closely followed by Kristy and Stewart Kirkby (95) and Vicki Dunn and Ray Thacker (96). In the nett, Loise and Michael Carlin (76.5) lead narrowly from the Kristy and Stewart (77) and Dawn Rush and Nic Vlismas (78.5)

The B Grade Championship sees Amy Davis and Bill Duncan leading (100), followed Roslyn Forster and Graham Hann(103) and 3 pairings, Annette and Len Robinson, Vicki Kennerson and Ken Rush and Carol Taylor and Ray Clapham all on 105. In the nett Amy and Bill (76) lead from Roslyn and Graham (76) and Annette and Len and Ray and Carol, both on 78.5.

Pairings that win scratch championship prizes are ineligible for nett prizes.
