Our Juniors Girls do us Proud again!
Marie-Claire Domingo was awarded Western Sydney Academy of Sport Golf athlete of the year last Friday. Marie Claire lost 4 shots this last calendar year and has had excellent results when representing the Western Sydney Sports Academy at various events. Marie Claire was presented her award by Olympians Melissa Wu and Sarah Ryan.
Marie-Claire has been an active member of the Junior Girls and Major Pennant Squad for the last few years, and we are all super proud of MC. Congratulations and thank you for representing SRGC with such pride. Given that MC was the only girl in the squad this was a great achievement as I remember MC being hesitant about being the only girl in the team.
The Citation for the award was as follows:
During her time in the program Marie-Claire improved her golf game, lowering her handicap by 4 shots, she was always focused in training sessions, ready to get involved and try new things, Marie-Claire also played well in 2022 “Your Local Club” Academy Games across both days posting solid results that resulted in a 2nd place finish for our team. By the end of the program, it was clear to see that she had demonstrated all the qualities that a coach looks for in a student.
