The SRGC Academy of golf offers, via invitation, an extensive High Performance program that supports young players who wish to focus on golf from a competitive viewpoint, honing and improving their skills. With Bronze, Silver, Gold to Elite Levels the scholarship program offers financial support for professional coaching, event participation, strength and conditioning, playing attire etc. Each player has an individually customised program to aid and support their development. This is devised, run and administered by our highly qualified professional staff and covers physical development, technique and mental aspects of the game.

We also have a limited number of Country Scholarships that are offered to up and coming golfers from country areas with the skill and desire to compete and experience the highly competitive metropolitan golf competitions and events.

The Stonecutters Golf Club Cadet Program has a history dating back over 60 years to Ashlar Golf Club in Blacktown. It has been refined and improved over the years and currently has up to 70 young golfers participating annually. It’s an ideal way for kids, girls and boys, to get into golf and socialise with other kids.

Cadets begin the year with group training sessions before hitting the course for a 22 week program running from March through October (with a mid-year winter break).

Cadets have access to the driving range and course all year round at no extra charge and additional discounted coaching is also available plus the ability to attend Golf Australia’s MyGolf programs run by our professional team.

The SRGC Academy of Golf offers a transitional program for Cadets to move into Junior Membership as they develop their skills and knowledge of the game and want to move up and compete and play in club competitions. Our pathway to junior membership begins with Cadets playing 3 holes then graduating to 7 holes, 10 holes and then 18 holes via our “Pro Shop Group” who play Saturdays at the end of our weekly competition. With mentors including our professional team and golf committees, this group progress through to junior membership as soon as they are ready to compete and play with a sound knowledge of rules and etiquette that equip them with the skills and support to play and enjoy their full golfing experience with all members of the club. Once a Junior member they can compete in unique competitions such as the Junior Tri-Series and Junior Matchplay. We also offer a Junior Champion for best score in the Club Championships and Junior of The Year award for most outstanding overall commitment to golf.

Our Juniors and Cadets are encouraged to participate in weekly Jack Newton Junior Golf tournaments around Sydney and NSW, including the Harvey Norman Week of Golf in the Hunter Valley.

Stonecutters participates in the Junior Pennants and Encourage Shield competitions, run by Jack Newton Junior Golf, along with the Eric Apperly Shield run by Golf NSW. These competitions provide our younger players the opportunity to play in interclub team competition and experience playing at other golf courses around Sydney

Many successful golfers over the years have been through our Junior development and scholarship programs and gone on to successful Amateur and Professional careers. These include Won Joon Lee (Japan Tour), Grant Booth (Tier 3 US Tour) and Darcy Boyd (2018 Australian Amateur Medallist and current PGA Trainee).

Our 2023 Major Metropolitan Pennant Team boasts 70% of the squad being made up of players who have been through the SRGC Academy of Golf
