Firstly, congratulations to the following players who have been selected to represent Stonecutters Ridge Golf Club in the 2023 Men’s Major Metropolitan Pennant Competition.

Secondly, the boys have been working hard and preparing for the season since early December. 

First up, we met Div 1 side Castle Hill on their home turf in our first pre-season trial before Christmas and came away with a solid 4.5 to 2.5 victory with good wins from Kade (6/5), Darcy (6/5), Ryan C (4/3) and Daniel B (4/3) with Harrison having a halved match. Close 2/1 losses for both Jacob and Raymond rounded out a good team performance to start the pennant year. Nice work by fills in Matt Horton and Allan Ison who also both chalked up nice wins on the day.

Wednesday night training commenced on the 4th January and is a weekly get together for the team to have some fun and prepare as a group. That continues every Wednesday until we finish up the season later in March. If you are out on the course after 6pm on Wednesday’s and see the boys make sure you say hi.

This Saturday we have our final pre-season match against Richmond at home and we are looking to continue our good home form and maintain our unbeaten run in all home matches since the 2020 season.

Once thing you can be sure of is that, regardless of results, these players have prepared to the best of their ability for the season and will give it their all as we chase success in the sectional phase and aim to play deep into final series that commences mid March.

Finally, and I cannot emphasise this enough, the team greatly appreciate members being out there on course during the season supporting them.
