Men’s golfing members are advised that the new Conditions of Play which became effective as of 1 January are now available in the Golf and Tennis section of the website.
The new conditions reflect the previously advised new grade splits effective from 1 January. The Conditions of Play are an essential read for golfing members, so we encourage you to read them and update your knowledge.
The Men’s Golf Committee has taken the decision to move to a graded Money Pin effective immediately as we do with Nearest the Pin. We believe this will result in more members entering the Money Pin and provide a more level playing field for golfers of all ability. The money prize pool will be split evenly between Junior Golf and A,B & C grades. The Club is also moving to a card payment option for entering the Money Pin to increase ease of payment and participation. Pro Shop staff will advise when the card payment option is available.
Members not showing for their booked time and late cancellations continue to be an issue. Members are reminded that, if they realise they cannot play in their booked time they should immediately cancel so that the vacancy can be filled via the waitlist as early as possible. Cancellation before 9pm the day before play can be done either via the website or by notifying the Pro Shop. Cancellations after that time must be by phone to the Pro Shop. As this has been an ongoing issue the committee in consultation with Pro Shop staff is currently monitoring all late cancelations and will be developing in the near future, a penalty structure for repeat offenders. Please do the right thing by your fellow members and ensure you cancel if you cannot play so that another member has an opportunity to play.
The Major and Special Events schedule for 2023 will be finalised in the coming weeks and will be posted to the website.
