Foursomes Wrap Up

Posted on: 27 June

The weekend of the 24th and 25th of July saw the final rounds of both the Men’s and Mixed Foursomes Championships completed. A reminder that only one prize can be won by each pairing with the prize order being:

  1. Scratch Winners (Champions)
  2. Net Winners
  3. Scratch Runners up.

Men’s Foursomes

Our 2023 Foursomes champions are Todd Ostler and Matt Taylor whose 2-round total of 149 saw them comfortable 5 shot winners from fast finishing Kade Webber and Andrew Kneeves on 154. The A Grade net winners are Neil Brown and Martin Morrissey on 144, followed by Daniel Beattie and Daniel McDougal on 147.5.

B Grade was won by Kerry Sampson and James Brown (177) in a close contest from Ahmed Siddiqi and Neil Dalton on 178. Gregg Biggs and Ronald Burke took out the net with 146.5, from Gary Raab and Bill McIntosh on 150.

Ernie and Sean Sammons are our C Grade Champions with 193, three shot winners from Ray Clapham and Gus Dannoun. Bob McIntyre and Robert Simmons (153) prevailed in the net from Stephen Taylor and Scott Thompson on 157.

Mixed Foursomes

A closing 74 in tough conditions was enough for Maddy Hagerty and Harrison Wilde to be crowned champions with a 2-round total of 155. Savannah Webb and Brent Young were runners up on 173. Lia Lavelle and Ryan Suckling (152) led the A Grade net, winning by 2 from Deb and Dave Crofts (154).

B Grade is yet to be determined, with a sudden death play off using the 18th hole to be scheduled between Eugene Hong and Sonia Golebiewski, and Carol Taylor and Ray Clapham with both pairings finishing on 205. While this should have occurred on the day, as the error was not the fault of either pairing the committee has determined that the play-off will be scheduled on another day.
