Stonecutters Ridge GC – Pace of Play Policy
PACE OF PLAY
• All players are required to play without delay and with due consideration to other’s safety on the course.
• Course staff always have right-of-way.
• In general, it is the committee’s position that no round (including stroke play) should take longer than 4 hours 30 minutes. The committee will use this time frame as a baseline when assessing pace of play.
• Groups are required to maintain their place in the field, i.e your group should maintain a gap of no more than 8 minutes behind the group in front for the entirety of the round. Round completion times will be monitored, and action taken where players fail to meet this requirement.
• Players should be ready to play immediately the group ahead is out of range or have left the vicinity of the green to which they are playing.
• Players should mark their card on the next tee and not on or near the green of the hole just finished.
• Groups that fall more than a hole behind the group ahead and are unable to regain their place in the field within 1 hole, would be deemed as holding up the field and as such must call the group behind through. When calling a group through, players are required to take measures to ensure their safety.
• Where a group is given a warning for slow play by a Course Marshall, they must immediately act to regain their place in the field. If they fail to do so within 1 hole they may be further warned. Failure to regain their place in the field after a 2nd warning may result in a 2-shot penalty being applied to all members of the group for the hole being played. Where a player is notified between the play of 2 holes the penalty shall apply to the next hole to be played. Penalties for slow play can be applied to a person more than once in a round. The invoking of such a penalty shall be at the sole discretion of the Course Marshall and shall be final.
• The Course Marshall is authorised to act on behalf of the committee. Players that fail to comply with directions of the Marshall, show dissent or abuse the Marshall will be subject to an investigation by the appropriate golf committee and possible sanctions.
• Any player who continually fails to maintain their place in the field, may at the discretion of the respective golf committee be required to play at the end of the field.
