Junior Matchplay
After completing the Junior Tri Series earlier in the year the top 8 players qualified for our Matchplay Event.
The first round was held on Sunday 31st August;
Joel Miller won 3&2 against Sam Kruger
Zac Isaako won 7&6 against Chase Farrell
Jacob Bartolome won 1up against Taylor Serafin on the 20th hole which I believe was a fantastic match
Sean Sammons won 4&3 against Luke Carruthers
Our semi final was played on Sunday 14th September but unfortunately only the 1 game due to Zac breaking his wrist.
Zac v Joel = Joel progressed straight through to the final
Jacob won 4&3 v Sean
Our final was played on Sunday 21st September where Joel came up trumps and beat Jacob 5&4. A great match and great experience for our 2 juniors who only progressed from cadets last year.
Jack Newton Shield
Over 2 days at Moore Park Golf Club, JNJG held the Jack Newton Shield open to all High School students from Year 7 to Year 9.
Leila Saw entered her first high school event and over the 2 rounds scored Nett, Even Par and -3 to win the Year 7 girls Nett Event.
Western Sydney Academy of Golf
Another year with 6 of our Juniors having been accepted as players for the Western Sydney Academy.
It was great to see one of our new juniors, Jake Thompson, being awarded with Athlete of the Year for golf.
A huge congratulations to all our winners this month which includes our Junior winners in our weekly competitions.
It’s great to see our juniors play at such a high competitive level and achieve so much.
