A New Year = Another busy Start for our Juniors
Posted on: 12 January
The start of the new year and already our juniors are travelling NSW.
The first event was the JNJG A.C.T Junior Championship, a 4-day event being held at Murrumbidgee Golf Club.
So, after a big trip to the US, Savannah Webb swapped her winter woollies for the more respectable golf gear that she is used to and travelled the 240km’s south.
The 1st round she produced 6 birdies and finished with a 73, 1 over par. The 2nd round and her comments were “I just couldn’t make a single putt today!” finishing with 1 birdie and a still respectable 75, 3 over par. However, when you are competing against girls who are scoring 68’s and 69’s it really puts you under pressure and with the heat quickly increasing in more ways than 1 she really had to go out there under the pump for the 3rd round. Unfortunately, the 3rd and 4th rounds did not go her way, and she finished both rounds with 77, a total of +10. The winner, Alicia Luo from Concord GC finished with 69, 72, 72, 70, giving her -9.
Next week the event is in Sydney for the Harvey Norman Week of Golf. This is held over 5 days at Strathfield, Castle Hill, Lakeside, Twin Creeks and ending at Muirfield.
There are 7 of our Juniors playing in this event, Georgia Karagiannis, Jack Gillett, Jake Thompson, Luke Carruthers, Marie-Claire Domingo and Sam Kruger.
I have attached the link which takes you into the Leaderboard so you can follow at your leisure.
