Men’s Metropolitan Major Pennant 2023 Report – Semi Final vs Ryde Parramatta at Cromer
I can report to members that your Men’s Major Pennant team secured a ‘first’ for the club yesterday at Cromer, with a 4.5/2.5 Division 2 semi-final victory over Ryde-Parramatta.
This secures the club’s promotion to Division 1 in 2024 and the opportunity for our team to compete at the highest level of club amateur team golf in metropolitan Sydney.
For the 20-30 Stonecutters spectators who travelled across town yesterday you were privileged to witness a team that united, fought every match to the very end, and secured a famous victory. I have no doubt that there will be many stories of the day (and the 21st hole in particular) told around the club over the next couple of weeks as the team prepares for the final.
You may wonder how the day unfolded so, if you are curious, just ask a member who was out there. They will be able to tell you much better than I can in any written match report.
Our opponents in the final will be Cromer Golf Club at a venue and time to be confirmed by Golf NSW in the next day or so.
We are playing Cromer at Riverside Oaks on Sunday 26th March
