Posted on: 3 May

The Men’s Golf Committee met on 11 April 2023.

Course Review

  • The Committee acknowledged the significant work undertaken by the volunteer group assisting on course.
  • Greens are recovering from renovations. It is disappointing that some greens have high levels of pitch mark damage. Members to be reminded of the importance of properly repairing pitch marks as well as repairing theirs and any other pitch marks they see. Those that are repairing pitch marks – THANK YOU.

Other Items

  • “No – Shows” – following the introduction of tracking and email follow up of those not cancelling 30 minutes prior to scheduled tee off, there has been a noticeable reduction of members not showing up for booked times. This is improving the experience for those on the waitlist.
  • Master Pennant final draw has been released. First match is at home on 14 May against Liverpool. Other clubs in section are Dunheved and Pennant Hills. The team has been selected and practise rounds at away courses have been scheduled. Manager: Bob Clarence, Players: Matt Horton, Todd Ostler, Ian O’Neil, Paul McGuffie, Nick Ferrer, Matt Taylor, Graeme Scott, Andrew Moore, Tony Wright and Craig Baird.
  • A review of the Local Rules printed on the back of the score card is being undertaken.
  • Work is continuing on a spreadsheet to automatically track round time completion across competitions. This will be used to identify areas for education with the goal of all groups complete their round within 4 hrs, 30 minutes.
