Eric Apperly Shield Update

Posted on: 14 July

The Eric Apperly team played against Royal Sydney at St Michaels on Sunday the 9th of July. The blue skies were pleasant. However, the 30 – 40 km wind and associated wind chill made for a difficult day for players and caddies, and to a lesser extent our supporters. Michelle (5) and Miguel (6) led the team off and set the tone, both winning the first.

Darcy (3), Ryan (4), Harry (2) and Kade (1) stuck to the script and won the first also. By days end the team had completed a comprehensive 6 – 0 victory. Kade 7/6, Harry 5/4, Darcy 6/4, Ryan 7/5, Michelle 8/7 and Miguel 8/6.

However, one result doesn’t make a successful season. This week’s match, a 11.28 tee time at Cronulla against Pennant Hills will prove a sterner test. In preparation for Sunday’s contest this week the team has spent time fine-tuning their games at Wednesday training and familiarising themselves with the Cronulla layout.

Thank you to our caddies and supporters, any additional support on Sunday at Cronulla would be greatly appreciated.
