Men’s Golf Committee Update

The Men’s Golf Committee met on Tuesday the 11th of July. Members are advised that:
• Poa (winter grass) treatment on greens and surrounds will commence in July / August. The treatment will result in some temporary bare patches on greens as the poa dies that will cover over with bent grass during the spring growing season. Whilst in the short term the playing surface will be adversely affected the treatment is necessary to prevent poa from taking over the bent grass.
• Greens renovations are scheduled to commence immediately after the competition on Tuesday the 15th of August. The course will re-open for play on Friday the 18th of August.
• There is significant pitch mark damage to the 16th and 17th greens. Members are reminded to properly repair pitch marks and to repair theirs and any other pitch marks they find on the green. If we care for our greens, we will have better surfaces to putt on.
• Member Appreciation Weekend is scheduled for the 16th and 17th of September. Further details to follow.
• From 2024 seeded groups at the end of the field will be implemented for the second round of both the Men’s and Mixed Foursomes. This will provide an opportunity for members to watch the leading groups finish and assist where a sudden death play-off is required.
• The Committee is currently reviewing the courses Local Rules.
